Day 369
2017/06/16

Shirt post for today is roller derby again. The Finger Lakes Lunachicks were formed in the summer of 2012 and were originally known as Auburn’s own revival of the Prison City Pin Ups. The team wanted to expand and represent all of the Finger Lakes community. The team was renamed the Finger Lakes Lunachicks and they moved to Geneva, New York. Skaters include Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Conduct, Daisy Duk’em, and Chyanide.

Day 371
2017/06/18

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there. The shirt for today is a little hula girl.

Day 383
2017/06/30

The Dallas Derby Devils have five home teams; High Seas Hotties, Suicide Shifters, Wrecking Crew, Slaughterers, and Death Row Rumblers. Their all-star squad, Army of Darkness, represents the league in sanctioned WFTDA competitions. The Dallas Derby Devils are looking for worldwide roller derby domination with their second rank interleague team – Battalion of Doom.

Day 366
2017/06/13

The shirt for today is from the Edgewater Colorado Belle hotel and casino on the Riverwalk in Laughlin, Nevada. Never been there. An Octoberfest shirt in June. I seem to like being out of context, out of phase, not in sync with anything.

Day 360
2017/06/07

The Volkswagen ‘microbus’ or ‘minibus’ was introduced in 1950. The Volkswagen ‘beetle’ was officially the Type1 and the ‘bus’ was the Type 2. The Type 2 became very popular during the counter-culture of the 1960s and was often referred to as a ‘Hippie wagon’. The last factory making the T2 was in Brazil and production there stopped at the end of 2013. Shirt for today is a VW bus in Hawaii with surfboards.

Day 358
2017/06/05

This shirt is from my first CATT. My first CATT was the second CATT. My second CATT was the third CATT. I posted my CATT shirts out of order. I posted my second CATT shirt which I got at the third CATT first and now I am posting my first CATT shirt that I got at the second CATT.

Day 352

2016/11/07

Cachaca is a distilled spirit made from sugarcane juice. It is the most distilled spirit in Brazil. The tropical drink Caipirinha is made using Cachaca, lime, and sugar. Every time I think of Cachaca in my head I imagine Christopher Walken saying it. I don’t know why I just do. I think it would be very cool to hear Mr. Walken order it in a bar.

Day 341

2014/12/07

Annoying Orange is delivering the Christmas cheer on the T-shirt for today. The cool hat I am wearing in the post was made for me by my wife Karen. She let me pick out the fabric. I couldn’t wear the hat for several years because it caused debilitating embarrassment for my teenage daughter. She was terrified that her friends would see me and find out how weird I was. She is older now and has come to accept, if not embrace, my eccentricities and general weirdness. So, I can wear the hat in public again. Merry Christmas and Peace Out.

Day 340

2014/12/06

If you don’t know why this is an awesome Christmas T-shirt then I just feel sorry for you.

Day 339

2014/12/05

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is a children’s picture book by Dr. Seuss that was originally published in 1957. The story was made into an animated special by Chuck Jones in 1966 with narration by Boris Karloff. The animated special is a beloved holiday special. Not so much the abomination perpetrated by Jim Carrey in the year 2000.

Day 338

2014/12/04

“A Charlie Brown Christmas”, the animated special, first aired in December of 1965. It is one of my favorite holiday specials. I love the jazz score by Vince Guaraldi.

Day 337

2014/12/03

Even the Empire celebrates Christmas. Darth Vader and some Imperial Stormtroopers, on Christmas leave from their posting on the Death Star, enjoy a festive holiday moment.

Day 336

2014/12/02

The Hawaiian phrase “Mele Kalikimaka” means Merry Christmas. Robert Alex Anderson wrote a Christmas song “Mele Kalikimaka” in 1949. One of the earliest recordings of the song was by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters in 1950. My current favorite version of the song is by The Hula Girls.

Day 335

2014/12/01

Time for a Spongebob Squarepants Christmas. Spongebob lives in Bikini Bottom. He doesn’t live in a bikini bottom rather he lives in Bikini Bottom. That’s an important distinction.

Day 334

2014/11/30

Getting into the Christmas spirit with my Homie. Homer and a tree made out of Duff beer. Happy Holidays.

Day 333

2014/11/29

“Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” was a 1964 film that is often listed as one of the ten worst films ever made. I was seven years old when the film came out and my Grandmother took me to see it. It was only the second time I had gone to the movies. The first time was also with my Grandmother. I remember the outing quite fondly. It is one of my best childhood memories. Here’s an interesting piece of trivia; Pia Zadora was eight years old and played one of the Martian children.

Day 332

2014/11/28

The twelve days of Christmas as interpreted by Bob and Doug McKenzie (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas) of SCTV from their album “The Great White North” started out with a beer.

Day 331

2014/11/27

Tis the season and so I am going to start with the Christmas shirts. Santa and a surfboard to kick off the holiday.

Day 329

2014/11/25

The shirt for today is one of the oldest shirts I have and it is paired with my newest hat. My wife hates this shirt. She says it is too old and too worn. Sometimes something that is old and worn can be familiar and comfortable; I’m talking about the shirt and not my wife. Just because something is old and frayed doesn’t mean it should be replaced; I’m still talking about the shirt and not my wife.

Day 330

2014/11/26

I have an Old Navy Flag T-shirt from every year since 1998 except for 2012. For the year 2012 I actually have two Old Navy Flag T-shirts; a blue one and a red one. Not sure why I have two from this particular year. Although it was a significant year in that it was the year I took an early retirement and quit the Evil Empire. Still an awesome decision!

Day 328

2014/11/24

“Bone” is the self-published comic book series by Jeff Smith. Smith says as a child he was a big fan of the comic strip “Pogo” by Walt Kelly and I think one can easily see the influence.

Day 327

2014/11/23

A couple of Woody’s and a US Route 66 sign. US Route 66, or America’s Main Street, was one of the first highways in the Interstate Highway System. The highway, established in 1926, was made a part of pop culture by the 1960’s TV show “Route 66”.

Day 326

2014/11/22

Just some superhero icons for today.

Day 324

2014/11/20

I seldom feel like a responsible grown up adult. I often feel like the still rebellious teen. Sometimes I maybe feel thirty something. I almost never feel as old as I actually am. I am scared at how fast the time has passed. And time seems to be moving at an ever accelerating rate.

Day 325

2014/11/21

Unfortunately no amount of denial will slow the advance of Winter.

Day 323

2014/11/19

“The Iceman Cometh” was a play written by Eugene O’Neill in 1939. It has absolutely nothing to do with this shirt. The ice truck on this shirt would be a decidedly cool way for an iceman to travel.

Day 322

2014/11/18

Patriotism described in cocktail terms with a little cheesecake. Seems about right?

Day 321

2014/11/17

The Rainforest Café is a themed restaurant chain with locations in the U.S. and internationally. I have never been to a Rainforest Café but I have two shirts from there. One is this T-shirt and the other is a Hawaiian shirt style.

Day 320

2014/11/16

The front of this shirt is supposed to have the BaTTT logo (Bridge and Tunnel Tiki Tour) on it. There was either a mistake at the printers or the BaTTT is flying in stealth mode. At any rate there is evidence on the back of the shirt that the BaTTT was present.

Day 319

2014/11/15

Just another Hawaiian T-shirt for today. The shirt for today is paired with a Kona Brewing ball cap. “Liquid Aloha” it says on the hat with a map of Hawaii. It’s starting to get cold here. Winter will be on us for sure.

Day 318

2014/11/14

My favorite show on TV right now is “The Walking Dead”. My lovely wife Karen got this swell T-shirt for me.

Day 317

2014/11/13

Old Guys Rule. I grew up watching westerns and John Wayne was the man. Too many classic and iconic films to mention. “If you don’t respect your elders, then I’ll just have to teach you to respect your betters”. While John Wayne was known for westerns he did manage to squeeze in a couple of movies that have a little Tiki in them. They are “The Wake of the Red Witch” and “Donovan’s Reef”.

Day 316

2014/11/12

There are three teams in the Central California Area Derby league; RockNRolla, the Detention Debutantes, and Atomic Assault.

Day 315

2014/11/11

The Dreadnought Dorothys are one of the teams in the Kansas City Roller Warriors WFTDA league in Kansas.

Day 314

2014/11/10

The Kansas City Roller Warriors is a WFTDA league in Kansas. In 2007 it was a double header in the Rink of Fire; the Victory Vixens vs. the Black-Eye Susans, and the Knockouts vs. the Dreadnought Dorothys.

Day 313

2014/11/09

In Texas they have some banked track roller derby. The Texas Roller Derby league (TXRD) has five teams; Holy Rollers, Hellcats, Putas del Fuego, Cherry Bombs, and Rhinestone Cowgirls. Self-described as pretty gritty the TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls help to keep Austin weird.

Day 312

2014/11/08

Colorado Springs, Colorado, is home to the Pikes Peak Derby Dames. Teams in this league include The Slamazons, The Danger Dolls, and the Candy Snipers.

Day 311

2014/11/07

Atlanta Rollergirls – Dirty South Derby – founding member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association ( WFTDA).

Day 310

2014/11/06

Springfield’s Queen City Roller Derby is a flat track league based in Springfield, Missouri.

Day 309

2014/11/05

Gotham Girls Roller Derby is a flat track league based in New York City. Teams in the league include The Wall Street Traitors, Manhattan Mayhem, The Brooklyn Bombshells, Bronx Gridlock, and Queens of Pain.

Day 308

2014/11/04

Roller Derby as a sport is dominated by all-female amateur teams. Players skate on four wheeled skates where the wheels are in two rows of two. The skates are called ‘quads’; inline skates are not allowed. Players wear protective equipment including helmets and the helmet covers determine the position being played.

Day 307

2014/11/03

The sport of Roller Derby began in the 1930s when roller skating marathons on banked tracks were popular. Damon Runyan and Leo Seltzer are credited with turning the skating into the sport of Roller Derby. The sport reached the height of its popularity in the 1940s and early 1950s. At that point the sport devolved into theatrics and scripted entertainment. The sport, now on flat tracks, has had a resurgence of interest. It is now a serious sport but has kept the colorful pseudonyms and uniforms from the flamboyant entertainment days.

Day 306

2014/11/02

Roller Derby Resurrection. As we leave the Halloween and Day of the Dead shirts this shirt today is perfect as a segue into my Roller Derby shirts. Roller Derby had its origins on banked-tracks during the 1930s. By the 1940s there were 50 million spectators. Roller derby lost its audience as it became all about entertainment and not sport. There were scripted bouts where the winners were predetermined. Of late there has been a resurgence of interest in Roller Derby with new rules and a flat track. The Resurrection Roller Girls are part of a league in Santa Rosa, California.

Day 305

2014/11/01

The holiday known as Day of the Dead, or Dia de Muertos, is celebrated in Mexico mostly. The holiday occurs the day after Halloween and some have called it the Mexican Halloween. This is wrong. The Mexican Day of the Dead is a celebration of those family and friends who have died. Halloween is about fearing ghosts, goblins, and spectres. Not the same thing at all.

Day 304

2014/10/31

Happy Halloween! All Hallows’ Eve most likely originated in the pagan harvest festivals like the Gaelic Samhain. Halloween today is celebrated with trick-or-treating, wearing costumes, carving pumpkins, and watching scary movies. Pumpkin lattes too. It’s the eternal question for the ages; Ginger or Mary Ann? Daphne or Velma? For me, it’s always been Velma.

Day 303

2014/10/30

Electric Frankenstein is a band from New Jersey. The band is known as much for the artwork promoting the band as for the music. Dark Horse comics has published a book with the band’s promotional artwork.

Day 302

2014/10/29

I have been told that I snore. I have never heard myself snore. I find no reason to doubt the people who have told me this so I am assuming this is probably how Dr. Jekyll felt. Poor Dr. Jekyll never saw firsthand what Mr. Hyde had done but rather had to just listen to the exploits in detail. Once I was chaperoning some Boy Scouts and we were staying in a cabin in the Adirondacks. After the first night the Scouts took to calling me Paul Bunyan. They said that no one since Paul Bunyan last walked the Earth could saw wood like me.

Day 301

2014/10/28

There are lots of theories as to how the custom of wearing costumes on Halloween came to be. Some think the costumes are a way to hide one’s identity from spirits that may be looking for you. Or, the scary costume may be designed to scare away the spirit or spectre. If it is a scary costume that is required some of us are scary enough sans costume. I think I’m pretty much protected from ghosts and goblins year round.

How many T-shirts does Khan Tiki Mon have? A lot? More than a lot? More than that?

My wife says I have too many T-shirts. She says I don't wear them enough. This used to be true. I tended to have a few current favorites that I wore in a tight rotation. No more of that. I am going to wear a different shirt each and every day and see how many days I can go without repeating a shirt. This page is home to the next 100 shirts.

THE DAILY T-SHIRT 4

Day 353

2016/11/08

Today is election day. This is my Cthulhu for president shirt. The little baby Elliott and I went to vote today. We were initially turned away at the entrance to our polling place. I was told that you can’t wear anything that is considered campaign material into the polling place. For instance no Trump “Make America Great Again” hats or “I’mwithher” Hillary buttons. I didn’t ask but I wondered if you could wear both the Trump hat and the Hillary button together since theoretically they would cancel each other out. What I did say was that I thought my Cthulhu for president shirt should be okay because he wasn’t officially on the ballot. They countered that, no, the law applied to write in candidates just the same. I could have turned the shirt inside out but opted instead to just go home and get another shirt with no political affiliation. We returned to the polling place and this time we were granted admittance. I wasn’t upset by the whole incident but I think Elliott must have been. While I was marking my ballot he climbed up on the table and tipped over the voting blinds. I couldn’t understand what he was screaming because he still speaks baby but I think he was defiantly campaigning for Cthulhu in violation of election laws.

Day 351

2014/12/25

The Occupy movement protests against social and economic inequality around the world. The first Occupy protest to achieve major news coverage was the Occupy Wall Street protest which began on September 17th in 2011. By October there were Occupy protests going on in over 900 communities worldwide including, apparently, The North Pole. The Occupy protests are non-violent. Protesters have been tear-gassed and pepper sprayed to make them disburse.

Day 355
2017/06/01

I haven't posted a T-shirt picture since January. I think I am going to start posting daily again.
Today's shirt was a gift from my daughter. I guess since I raised kids that are Monty Python fans I must not have been a complete failure as a parent.

Day 370
2017/06/17

Horror In Clay is a purveyor of fine horror, Tiki, and SciFi themed barware and accessories. This includes the Horror In Clay Tiki mug and the Innsmouth Fogcutter. I got this shirt along with some mugs as part of a Kickstarter. One of the mugs in the package was The Cask of Amontillado (from the Edgar Allen Poe story). There was some other cool swag as well.

Day 348

2014/12/22

The “Nutcracker” is a Christmas favorite. The “Nutcracker” is a two act ballet with a score by Tchaikovsky. The ballet premiered in 1892 but wasn’t popular until the 1960s. Today, for many American ballet companies, performances of the “Nutcracker” account for forty percent of annual ticket sales.

Day 361
2017/06/08

Atlanta Rollergirls are founding members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association ( WFTDA). The Atlanta Rollergirls were founded in 2004.The league features four home teams, the Apocalypstix, Denim Demons, Sake Tuyas, and Toxic Shocks.

Day 354

2017/01/16

Yes, I have over five hundred t-shirts. Anytime I get to thinking that I haven’t been the success in life that I might have hoped for I reflect on the sartorial splendor of the simple man that I have amassed and life is good. I got a couple of shirts for Christmas from my daughter. I love the shirts and my daughter. My wife may complain about how our daughter is enabling ‘my problem’ but I don’t see it that way.

Day 373
2017/06/20

Ohana: Luau at the Lake kicks off in a couple of days. And I quote, “A weekend of Polynesia in the Adirondacks.
This event is presented by the Fraternal Order of Moai. A majority of the proceeds from Ohana Luau At The Lake go to support the Easter Island Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to conservation, preservation, and education of the cultural heritage of Easter Island.
The mission of the Fraternal Order of Moai is to serve as the premier fraternal organization and social network for all men and women interested in Tiki culture and the Polynesian pop era. Our core values are: Good Works, Fellowship, Spirit, Presence, Preservation and Celebration.”

Day 376
2017/06/23

The shirt for today. Location shoot Ohana Luau at the Lake brought to you by the Fraternal Order of Moai. Bringing the Aloha.

Day 365
2017/06/12

We have a couple of milestones today. Today is the 365th day I’ve posted a T-shirt picture; that’s one whole year. Today is also my birthday and I am no longer in my fifties. I was going to cut the sleeves off of my shirt so I could look like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. But ‘The Rock’ isn’t as old as me and so let’s just wait and see if he looks as good as me when he’s my age.

Day 346

2014/12/12

This holiday shirt might not be PC. I’ve had this shirt for a very long time. One of my oldest holiday shirts.

Day 344

2014/12/10

Who’s a big deal? Well, I guess I am kind of a big deal.

Day 372
2017/06/19

Texas Rollergirls is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Austin, Texas. Founded in early 2003 The Texas Rollergirls are widely credited as the league that started the modern roller derby movement. The Texas Rollergirls were the first flat track league in the nation to play a version of roller derby using new standardized rules and a track design based on the dimensions of the old banked tracks. As flat track derby caught on in other American cities, the Texas Rollergirls' rulebook and track design eventually evolved into the specifications that were adopted with the formation of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) in 2005. The home teams of the Texas Rollergirls are the Hell Marys, the Honky Tonk Heartbreakers, the Hotrod Honeys, and the Hustlers. Texas Rollergirls, represented by the Texecutioners, won the first WFTDA Championships, the "Dust Devil" tournament, in 2006.

Day 364
2017/06/11

Today’s shirt is from the Fabulous Sin City Rollergirls (so fabulous, it hurts), or Sin City Rollergirls (SCRG). The SCRG is the local Las Vegas, Nevada roller derby team, and a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). The SCRG started as the Las Vegas Neanderdolls in 2005. It was started by coaches Ivanna S. Pankin and Trish the Dish. The SCRG consists of four home teams and a travel team. The four Las Vegas-themed home teams are the Tommy Gun Terrors, The Notorious VIP, Hoover Damned, and the Flying Aces.

Day 356
2017/06/03

I got this shirt when I rode the bus. What bus? The Tiki bus. My second trip on the Chicago Area Tiki Tour. Or just CATT. This happened at the end of April this year. Good times for sure.

Day 381
2017/06/28

Emerald Coast Roller Derby is a women’s flat track derby league in Milton, FL. ECRD was established in November 2010. WFDTA rules are followed and enforced. All bouts are sanctioned through USA Roller Sports. Team members include Knuckles, CoCo LoCo, Tabby Thump, Street Justice, and Skully Slam-her.

Day 367
2017/06/14

The shirt for today has Hawaii, Tiki, and a Moai. Wow. What more could you ask for?

Day 357
2017/06/04

The shirt for today is a rum runner shirt. I had a friend that was a rum runner. Not in Key West. He brought booze into the states from Canada through the St. Lawrence Seaway during prohibition. He did a pretty good stint in federal prison. He told me that he had done many things that would have put him in prison but the cops couldn’t make anything stick. So, they framed him for something he didn’t do. He wasn’t bitter about that. He died of a massive heart attack on New Year’s Eve in 1981 or 1982 (I can’t remember the exact year). I sat with him while he died. He was in incredible pain. His last words were, “What did I ever do to deserve this?”

Day 368
2017/06/15

The shirt post for today is also a PSA. My friend Mileto Allemand could use some help. MeduSirena Marina writes, “On May 24th, 2017- LETZSup paddleboard enthusiast, instructor, racing champion and Mai-Kai brother Mileto Allemand had his entire business- trailer, paddles, life vests and paddleboards stolen. His whole business investment, which took years to build, piece by piece, board by board... taken away by thieves in a matter of minutes. Unbelievable, and heartbreaking. An accomplished medal-winning paddleboarder himself, he is also a passionately dedicated instructor. Much of his life and love has been introducing & turning folks on to the sport, making his boards available to everyone and anyone who wanted to give it a go. He encourages and trains future competitive racers- giving them the opportunity to participate and race at all levels of proficiency. Some of you may also recognize him from his years of stellar performances on the Mai Kai stage in Fort Lauderdale.” I am sharing the GoFundMe page. We help our Ohana. Mahalo.

Day 345

2014/12/11

“The tree isn’t the only thing getting lit this year”. Most of my Christmas shirts seem to be red or green. Here’s a nice pink one.

Day 342

2014/12/08

Naughty or nice? How about naughty but nice? That’s the theme for today’s Christmas T-shirt.

Day380
2017/06/27

Wow! Another Tiki Terrace shirt? I was at Tiki Terrace in 2015 with CATT (Chicago Area Tiki Tour). I think the quick thinking staff saw us semi-inebriated Tikiphiles as a good way to clean out old merchandise. They brought all this stuff out from a back room or the basement or somewhere. Don’t know if they have a basement. (Remember the Alamo – Pee Wee reference). This shirt I am wearing today is from 2007.

Day 375
2017/06/22

Arrived in Lake George for Ohana Luau at the Lake. Used the GPS for the trip here. We were on the Northway 87 and the GPS said we were 9 minutes from our destination. I told Karen Tennant I don't need the GPS from here. Turned it off and got off at the wrong exit and turned the wrong way. Drove aimlessly for an hour in the Adirondacks lost in the woods unable to get a signal and reconnect to the GPS. Karen looked up the word 'hubris' to see if it described my folly. She decided no it didn't because there was no arrogance on my part; I am just an idiot.

Day 350

2014/12/24

Rudolph, a red-nose reindeer, is the most famous of all the red-nose reindeer. He was first popularized in 1939 in a book by Robert May. The brown-nose reindeer are not as popular as the red-nose reindeer and in fact many people find the brown-nose reindeer to just be very annoying.

Day 378
2017/06/25

The Fraternal Order of Moai is a fraternal order and social club founded in 2005. The group participates in many public events but the organization operates like a secret society. As part of the modern Tiki revival the FOM is sometimes described as ‘a cult within a cult’. I can neither confirm nor deny my attendance at FOMCon (the 2015 Fraternal Order of Moai national convention) but that may be where today’s shirt had its origins.

Day 362
2017/06/09

Today’s shirt is a Gold Coast Derby Grrls shirt. The Gold Coast Derby Grrls (GCDG) is a roller derby league based in Broward County, Florida. Founded in 2007, the league became a full member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) in March 2011. In May 2014 (GCDG) proudly hosted Beach Brawl 2014, a fully sanctioned Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) international tournament. Twenty-Four domestic and international roller derby teams participated in the record breaking Roller Derby event held at the Broward County Convention Center in sunny South Florida (Fort Lauderdale is home of the Mai Kai and many of my Florida friends).

Day 359
2017/06/06

Chef Shangri La is one of the stops on the Chicago Area Tiki Tour. The Chef is home of the Dr. Fong cocktail.

Day 363
2017/06/10

Another ‘Hawaii Five-O’ shirt. This is actually my 4th H5O shirt. Keen observers may notice a difference between yesterday’s post and today’s. My wife is in charge of my grooming. When I get too wild looking she calls Venus, our new stylist, and makes an appointment for her to make me more civilized (on the outside at least).

Day 377
2017/06/24

Ohana Luau at the Lake is well underway. Best weekend of the year. The event held in Lake George is, in my opinion, the premier event hosted by the FOM (Fraternal Order of Moai) and represents the group’s core values ‘Good Works, Fellowship, Spirit, Presence, Preservation and Celebration’. Fun with a purpose.

Day 349

2014/12/23

Mistletoe is a parasitic plant. Mistletoe, an obligate hemiparasitic plant in the Santalese family, attaches itself to shrub and tree branches and sucks water and nutrients from the host. At Christmas mistletoe is hung as a decoration and by custom lovers are expected to kiss when under the sprigs. The tradition has been around for so long no one is quite sure where it came from or what it means. It has its roots in Paganism and the Druidic culture. In Norse mythology Loki murders Balder with an arrow made of mistletoe. In the ‘ritual of oak and mistletoe’ white clad Druids climbed a sacred oak and cut down mistletoe. Two white bulls were sacrificed and the mistletoe was used to make an elixir said to cure infertility. This shirt says, “Mistletoe magic; get what you really want this Christmas”.

Day 343

2014/12/09

Another Peanuts Christmas shirt. This one has the whole gang. Well, most of the gang. I don’t see Pigpen.

Day 374
2017/06/21

The shirt for today is from the Tiki Terrace in Chicago. The Tiki Terrace is a Hawaiian restaurant featuring live entertainment; hula dancers and a luau and dinner show. Been there twice. Once with CATT2 and once with CATT3.

Day 382
2017/06/29

"In 2001 /2002 roller derby was reinvented in Austin from the game that was played in the 1950s. Lacking the budget to build and house a banked-track, the Texas Rollergirls redrafted the rules to allow for a flat-track game. This was the start of the modern-day roller derby boom that has been growing over the past decade. By converting the game to a flat track it has made the sport more accessible not only for skaters financially, but also for fans, who can now be closer to the track and take in more of the action."

Day 347

2014/12/21

Merry Christmas you filthy animal.

Day 379
2017/06/26

Another Tiki Terrace shirt today. The Tiki Terrace was founded in April of 2003 by brothers, Scott, Jim and Phil Zuziak. It was their intention to bring Hawaii to the Chicago-land area through the sights, tastes and sounds of Polynesia. All three brothers have a background in Polynesian drum & dance and have performed and competed in Samoan fire knife dancing competitions. The Tiki Terrace is a result of their passion for Polynesian culture all while reflecting their background with hand crafted décor and Hawaiian style local cooking.
