2014/11/22 17:00 I took the kids to Shoppingtown Mall so that Alice could get her picture taken with Elsa, Anna, Sven, and Olaf from the movie “Frozen”. When we got there the line snaked all the way through the mall and the wait time was somewhere around two and a half to three hours. Well, that wasn’t going to happen. We walked around the mall some, threw pennies in the fountain, ate pretzels, and had an Icee. I found some cardboard cutouts of Elsa and Anna, no line there, and Alice got her picture taken; mission accomplished!

There was much playing in the snow done.

2014/12/20 11:00 Buckled up and on our way to check out the gingerbread houses at the Erie Canal Museum.

At Laura and Marty's house.

Uncle Michael and Alice.

The rants continue. The rambles continue. Nothing can stop the ravings.

2014/12/12 23:00 We celebrated Robert's birthday with a Carvel ice cream cake.

We were waiting for the elephants to have their turn at bat (squishing the squash). My grandson was explaining the benefits of meditation while we waited. His sister is a convert.

Pumpkin fairy.

2014/12/18 20:00 Yesterday I hung up some Christmas decorations. My wife came home from work and said it was the "most pathetic display" she had ever seen. I think she was hoping for something a little more? Story of my life; I know how Charlie Brown felt.

Alice at the YMCA. She is dressed as Strawberry Shortcake.

2014/11/22 13:00 It has been so cold here lately. Alice loves sitting in front of the heat vent and letting the warm air blow her hair around.

2014/11/26 19:00 We had our Thanksgiving dinner the day before Thanksgiving day.

2014/12/14 20:00 Adison and Winnie came over for a visit today

Adison and Mark joined us as well.

2014/12/13 16:00 We got our Christmas tree today.

2014/12/26 19:00 I collect a lot of crap. One category of things I collect is nodders, wobblers, wigglers, and bobbleheads. My collection is Tiki inspired but has expanded a little to include B-movie monsters and other retro stuff. My incredible wife had a Khan Tiki Mon bobblehead made for me for Christmas. Is this awesome or what??!! You can view some of my collection on my website.

Taking inspiration from the gingerbread houses we saw at the Erie Canal Museum yesterday Tristan and Alice made their own.

2014/11/01 16:00 Robert, Tristan, and I went to the model train show at the NY State Fairgrounds.

2014/12/26 16:00 We celebrated our Christmas today.

2014/11/22 09:00 Last night we went to an art exhibition and fundraiser called “Art Gone Wild” at the Rosamund Gifford Burnet Park Zoo. All of the artwork was done by the animals. The art was for sale, for auction, and up for raffle. We won a painting by Abe the Siamang Ape. There were hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Alice ate about three pounds of pepperoni and the same amount of strawberries. She had gone back for seconds on the pepperoni and a nice lady was helping her. She had put quite a pile of pepperoni on Alice’s plate and she asked, “Is that okay?” Alice said, “No. More please”.

That's our tree.

Playing video games with Uncle Michael.

These were the pictures I got without waiting in line.

2014/11/27 22:00

2014/11/25 22:00 I went to the SU basketball game tonight. It was the first time using my season tickets that I won. The seats are fairly decent. I’m pleased. My son Michael went with me. SU vs. Loyola; it wasn’t much of a game. Loyola didn’t score for at least the first ten minutes. SU led by a substantial margin the entire game. When Michael and I got home we walked into the house and it was filled with smoke. Michael said, “Mom’s cooking again”.

Painting the garage a tropical blue.

2014/12/20 22:30 We went to the Erie Canal Museum to check out the gingerbread houses.

Decorating the tree.

2014/12/04 20:00 One of the first dates I took my wife to be on was to a King Crimson concert at the Landmark Theatre. It was February 25, 1982. I was lucky enough to score some really good seats. I loved the album “Red”. The song “Fallen Angel” from “Red” is an all-time favorite. One of my favorite drummers is Bill Bruford and he was with King Crimson at this point in time (there have been 21 musicians play for the band over the years). Bill Bruford played with Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, and UK as well as others. I thought the concert was amazing. My future wife had never heard King Crimson before that concert. She would later admit that she almost never went out with me again after that night because she hated the King Crimson concert that much and Robert Fripp in particular. Too funny.

2014/12/15 19:00

Alice loves "Frozen".

2014/11/24 15:00 I have a one car garage. It is a small garage. My garage has never had a car in it since I owned the house. I am going to fix up my garage as a work shop and studio.

If you waited hours in line this was the picture you got.

2014/12/19 22:00 My wife, Karen, had asked me to put up some Christmas decorations outside. I did that on Wednesday and my efforts were labeled as a “pathetic display”. So, I had to explain that those first decorations were just Phase One in the Grand Plan. Yesterday I moved on to Phase Two. Today I will be executing Phase Three of the Grand Plan. Happy wife, happy life?

khan tiki mon's rants and rambles v.8.84

2014/11/27 14:00 I wasn’t dreaming of a white Thanksgiving but that’s what we got. I listened to “Alice’s Restaurant” by Arlo Guthrie; a Thanksgiving tradition. “Yes sir, officer Obie sir, I put that letter under the six tons of garbage”. Yesterday my Alice was dressed as the Thanksgiving fairy. Today she was dressed as the Pumpkin fairy. For some reason the Pumpkin fairy has handcuffs and cuffs herself to the dollhouse. No idea what that means. Happy Thanksgiving to all my peeps.

Tristan and Alice with a gingerbread man. The gingerbread man is the one in the middle.

This latest iteration of my rants and rambles will be much like past versions. The key components will be unchanged. There still may be too much information shared and I am still most definitely weird as all get out. And still boring.

2014/12/01 20:00 I was working in the garage today. I was moving a shelf and I didn't check to see if there was anything on the top shelf. When I moved the shelf a saw fell off the top shelf and cut my wrist.

2014/12/27 22:00 Karen's Mom, her brother Dave, and her nephew Sage came to visit. We went out to dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse.

2014/11/02 17:00 I took the grandkids to the Rosamund Gifford Burnet Park Zoo today for the annual Squishing of the Squash.
